Members first, every step of the way
For more than 35 years, we’ve helped millions of Australians save for retirement.
Our flagship Balanced investment option has consistently delivered strong long-term performance for members1. And our administration fees are among the lowest in the industry2. This is important because strong long-term returns combined with low fees and costs build retirement savings.
As a profit-for-member fund, we don’t pay profits or dividends to shareholders. So the profit we make is for members. And when members are ready to retire, we provide the products, services and guidance they need to help them retire with confidence.
So, no matter what industry or profession you work in, or whether you’re at the start of your career, getting close to retirement or retired, we can help you get the most out of your super.
Our story
Our story began in the 1980s when the first industry funds were set up to help more Australians enjoy a better retirement.
Two of these leading funds were the Australian Retirement Fund and the Superannuation Trust of Australia. Over the years, these funds expanded their membership and enhanced their services and offerings. They recognised a unique opportunity to bring their expertise and strength together to deliver immediate and long-term benefits for existing and future members.
In 2006, they merged and became AustralianSuper. The super fund for all Australians.
Throughout our history, we’ve welcomed members from across the country and have worked to find investment and growth opportunities. We’ve also worked to keep costs low and develop products and provide services that help members. Along the way we’ve become Australia’s most trusted3 superannuation fund.
We’ve also grown to become the largest superannuation fund in Australia, and one of the 20 largest pension funds the world4. We use our size to benefit members.
We remain committed to providing strong long-term returns and excellent products and services for members, now and in the future.
