Service and support
AustralianSuper has an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specialist service in the Contact Centre. The service goes to culturally trained colleagues to provide a more knowledgeable and efficient experience. To speak to this team, please choose the option when you call in or please tell the person on the phone that you are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person.
A dedicated team within our Bereavement Centre has been given cultural training to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members with Sorry Business. Tell the person on the phone if you need to speak to this team.
The Fund also has introduced an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander interpreter service. Members can book an appointment with the Fund and an interpreter in one of many First Nations languages.
Kinship
Many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have called on super funds to recognise kinship structures. We understand the importance of this in payment of death benefits. While superannuation laws don’t allow any super fund to recognise kinship structures when paying death benefits, nominating a beneficiary can help us understand who you would like your super to be given to after you die.

You can set up or change your nomination by visiting Nominate a beneficiary
