So how does AustralianSuper's purpose inspire its people in helping members achieve their best possible financial position in retirement?We've brought together a group of AustralianSuper colleagues to find out.
How often do you and your colleagues talk about what's in members' best financial interests?
Every week, monthly, once a year?

I've been a member of AustralianSuper for more than 10 years, so it was actually really kind of exciting for me to join as a colleague at the fund. I think the big difference here and what you really notice is that whatever we are doing is in the best financial interest of our members.
When we're putting a business case together for a new technology system, we have a box that we literally check on the form.
So we have to be able to say, yes, this is in the best financial interest of our members.
[Narrator]What initially attracted you to AustralianSuper? It's purpose, career opportunity, lifestyle and wellbeing?
(gentle upbeat music)
I think purpose is very much about what it is you're doing on a day-to-day basis.
It's that purpose to make sure that our member are financially looked after.
I finish work and I'll get on a train.
And I think, "I wonder how many people "in this train carriage are with AustralianSuper and what I do potentially impacts them."
I'd explain the way the fund acts and this idea of being selfless the same way I guess I'd describe parenting.
You do it for someone else.
[Narrator]Is working out AustralianSuper what you expected it to be? Yes, no?

So I remember, during my time in practice, when I was working with AustralianSuper on the King's Cross transaction,
it struck me that if I was to ever choose to go in-house, AustralianSuper would be one of those organisations that I would want to go and work for.
So I think the uniqueness comes from the fact that you have, in one organization, the members, at one end, that we're all working for and, at the other end, you've got the size and scale that AustralianSuper has, which allows it to play in the space of the biggest global investment platforms around.

Our Programs
By joining an AustralianSuper Graduate or Internship Program, you will develop lifelong capabilities while helping us positively impact the future of all Australians.
Building a clear understanding of our values and how they translate to everyday behaviours, graduates and interns alike are provided with meaningful work experiences linked to the Fund’s purpose.
Open to all undergraduate degrees, you will develop technical and functional competence whilst playing a pivotal role in ensuring members achieve their best financial position in retirement.
Intern Program
Running for 8-12 weeks, AustralianSuper interns are offered unrivalled exposure to our award-winning teams, with the opportunity to work on real world projects and initiatives, whilst gaining exposure to senior business leaders.
Designed to provide interns with meaningful experiences and insights into the graduate journey, our Intern Program offers a Member, Enterprise and Investments stream.
Successful completion of our Intern Program can lead to an offer to join our two-year, rotation-based Graduate Program.
Intern Programs are currently offered in our Melbourne, London and New York offices.

Eligibility
Melbourne (December - February)
- Be an Australian / New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident.
- Be in your final or penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
- Be able to join the Intern Program for 12 weeks from the commencement date (December to February with 2 weeks leave between December – January).
- Be able to join the Graduate Program for 2 years from the following year (January / February commencement).
London (June / July – August / September)
- Be a British citizen / Irish citizen or non-UK citizen with the ongoing right to work in the UK.
- Be in your final or penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
- Be able to join the Intern Program for 8-10 weeks from the commencement date (June / July - August / September).
- Be able to join the Graduate Program for 2 years from the following year (September / October commencement).
New York (June / July – August / September)
- Be a US citizen or non-US citizen with the ongoing right to work in the US.
- Be in your final or penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
- Be able to join the Intern Program for 8-10 weeks from the commencement date (June/July - August/September).
- Be able to join the Graduate Program for 2 years from the following year (September / October commencement).

Graduate Program
Like our internships, our Graduate Program offers a Member, Enterprise and Investments stream, providing graduates with the opportunity to rotate through teams across a two-year journey.
During your rotations you will participate in various development opportunities that will build the required skills and capabilities that will set you up for a successful career far beyond the graduate experience.
Through participation in three 2-week group projects, graduates further develop their foundational knowledge of the Fund’s values and purpose; risk frameworks and ways of working; and our investment philosophy and approach.
You will be fully supported along your journey as a graduate at AustralianSuper. As part of the program, you will have access to both buddies and a range of mentors that will assist in your growth and development.
The exciting opportunities as a graduate at AustralianSuper is endless and will include;

Following the completion of the Graduate Program, you will continue your AustralianSuper journey in an on-going permanent role.

From our perspective, we want to focus on the key skills and behaviours required to be successful in the role and how you’ve demonstrated those successfully in the past.

As part of our recruitment process, we’ll need to complete some standard checks. These include a minimum of two professional references as well as all appropriate background and entitlement checks.
